He graduated from the Department of Economics at the Faculty of Political Sciences, Ankara University in 1995 after completing his high school education at Ankara Finance School. After his services at the General Directorate of National Real Estate, he worked as a Tax Inspector at the Ministry of Finance Inspection Board between 1998 and 2007.
During this period, his work experience focused on administrative investigation and audit, Masak research and audit, and tax audit. He was appointed as an auditor at the Presidency State Audit Institution for a while. He also served as an expert in the High Military Court. Between 2005 and 2006, he completed his master’s degree in Technology Management and Business Administration at the University of Illinois in the USA. During his master’s program, he conducted research on corporate structures at the headquarters of multinational companies such as Apple, Intel, and ADM. From 2007 to 2011, he worked as the Head of Group in charge of Collection and then Excise Duty, at the Revenue Administration. During his time at the Revenue Administration, he actively worked on the execution of technology-based collection projects, which are extensively used today. He has participated implementation practices on collection transactions within the scope of cooperation between the Irish and Turkish Revenue Administrations. He took part in the European Union Working Groups and OECD Working Groups on collections and indirect taxes as well.
In 2011, he has resigned from his duties from the public sector voluntarily and started his own private practice. He successfully leads and carries out Sworn-in Certified Public Accountancy and Independent Audit activities in a wide range of sectors besides his major role as being a preferred consultant to the board of directors of Türkiye’s leading companies in the chemical, mining, automotive, beverage, food, cosmetics, and agriculture sectors. Gürol is also the member of the Executive and Supervisory Boards of various NGOs.
